New Jersey not lucky, who says ??

When the Indian team started their New Zealand tour with 2 straight losses, their was a huge hue and cry about the new Indian jersey not being lucky. But then they proved everybody wrong by not just winning the ODI series 3-1 but then continuing their winning streak to the test matches as well.
Yesterday Dhoni’s boys gave Indian’s just another reason to celebrate, winning their first test on the NZ soil in 33 years. Last time it was the legendary Sunny Gavaskar’s team that did it. This Indian team has turned the world’s head their way. With continuously winning not only in the subcontinent but also abroad. They did that to Australia last year, then beat them at home then thrashed England at home, followed it with a comprehensive series win in SriLanka and now in New Zealand they dunnit again !

Its the lucky one

Its the lucky one

Well the skeptics may say its too early to comment on the test series now but as a matter of fact the home team might also be wondering how to avoid the series loss, forget winning it. Its only in a case when half of the Indian batsmen fall ill or may some extra poor cricket that they would loose. But the current form of the players, be it the bowlers, the batsmen or the captain, no one would put money on the home side.
Be it Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Gambhir, or Zaheer, Ishant or Bhajji it looks now that everybody is enjoying out there. It was very correctly said by Dhoni at the presentation that it was a complete team win. All the players performed and when the team plays like that the there is no reason when should not look forward to a series win.
I guess Ganguly started it with winning matches abroad and Dhoni has taken it further to winning Series’ abroad. All the best to Team India and hail the jersey-whether new or old.

Anand with the Championship trophy

Anand with the Championship trophy

Peter Roebuck, Australia’s famous Cricket writer is in India, for covering the Border Gavaskar Trophy but yesterday, first lines he spoke were something like this, “I have never seen this before, the frontpage of the newspapers having Chess as its headline”. Well Mr.Peter I guess there are some things unique about India and when it comes to brainpower then I guess India has quite often proven its supremacy to the world. Yet again we prove that when Vishwanathan Anand, India’s first Grandmaster won the World Chess Championship.

Vishwanathan Anand, ranked no. 1 since 2007, has now been crowned the undisputed king of the world in the game of chess. He had won the Rapid Title (07) and also won in tournament format (07 again) and if there was anything he wanted badly was this, the title in the matchplay format. He beat Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik by 2-game margin to become the First Non Russian since Bobby Fischer in 1972 to win against a Russian in this format of the game. With world titles in all formats of the game he can heave a sigh of relief and bring a smile on his face, finally !

India maybe having the better of the world champs in Cricket, but this I guess should be rated as India’s biggest sports feat and stands at par if not above with the Cricket World Series title in 83 or Abhinav Bindra’s gold medal at the olympics. Hopefully many youngsters will follow him in and get inspired to produce more such results and more glory to the nation. Cheers for Anand, cheers for India.

Its 48 points apiece for Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa. I coudn’t believe my eyes when I saw that. Just logged on Formula1 site to see this

Flawless Hamilton triumphant at sodden Silverstone

Well I read in the morning newspaper that he wasn’t ther in the front two rows in the starting grid and was happy that one the Ferrari men was. But wa surprised to see the podium pic having no body from the red team.  With each progressing race the title championship is getting hotter. Man I just wish I could watch all those races LIVE! Well thats the loss you pay when out for some work. Anyways hope to see this title end very sportingly and in favour of my Red’s.

Hamilton\'s at his best!
